Dr. Abigail Jamula, PT, DPT, CIDN
Staff Physical Therapist
Dr. Abigail “Abbie” Jamula is a seasoned physical therapist with more than 15 years of experience providing thoughtful, individualized care across orthopedic, post-operative, and geriatric rehabilitation. At Private Care Therapies, she is known for her ability to build deep, trusted relationships with clients and families while helping individuals regain strength, confidence, and independence in their own homes.
Abbie’s clinical foundation spans outpatient orthopedics, sports medicine, inpatient recovery, and home-based rehabilitation. This breadth of experience allows her to adapt seamlessly to the real-world demands of her clients’ daily lives; whether supporting recovery after surgery, navigating complex medical conditions, or maintaining mobility and safety as people age.
Over time, Abbie discovered a deep passion for working with older adults. She finds this work especially meaningful because of the strong connections formed in the home setting and the opportunity to support clients through multiple stages of health and life. Many of the individuals she works with are well into their 80s and 90s and continuing to thrive - something she attributes to proactive, relationship driven care that looks beyond a single diagnosis.
Clinically, Abbie specializes in orthopedic rehabilitation and functional mobility for older adults, with particular interest in both post-surgical recovery and medically complex cases. She enjoys the challenge of helping individuals rebuild strength and function after serious illness, injury, or hospitalization; especially when others have underestimated what’s possible. At the same time, she values the clarity and momentum of more straightforward orthopedic recoveries, guiding clients confidently through each phase of healing.
Abbie is certified in Integrative Dry Needling (CIDN), a technique she incorporates when appropriate to support pain relief, muscle function, and nervous system regulation. She is also trained in the McKenzie Method for Mechanical Diagnosis and Treatment, with a strong focus on spinal care, and brings additional movement-based training into her work to support long-term mobility and resilience.
At the core of Abbie’s approach is a commitment to treating the whole person. She takes time to understand each client’s routines, family dynamics, goals, and priorities - believing that meaningful progress happens when care fits real life. Her clients often describe her as steady, compassionate, and deeply invested in their success.
At Private Care Therapies, Abbie values the ability to provide unhurried, personalized care—free from restrictive models so she can fully support each individual’s dignity, history, and aspirations. For her, physical therapy is not just about recovery, but about helping people continue living the lives that matter most to them.
